The event will take the form of a roundtable discussion focused on the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Scientific Discovery, exploring how advanced computational tools are reshaping research practices, knowledge production, and the role of scientific institutions. The discussion will be moderated by Vittorio Di Tomaso, Managing Director Data & AI – Jakala, and it will feature: 

Angelo Maria Petroni

Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at University La Sapienza, Rome

Pierluigi Contucci

Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Bologna 

Simone Severini

Distinguished Engineer at Google, and Professor of Physics of Information at University College London 

Fabio Pammolli

Professor of Economics, Finance, and Data Science at Politecnico di Milano and President of the Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence (AI4I) 

The roundtable will foster an interdisciplinary dialogue across science, technology, and economics, encouraging an open reflection on both the opportunities and challenges that AI introduces in contemporary scientific research.
