Press Office & Digital Strategy Specialist

Focus: National and International Media Relations & Digital Communication in the AI Ecosystem

The Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence for Industry (AI4I) is looking for a high-impact communication professional to support the coordination of its Press Office and drive the implementation of its digital communication strategy.

Reporting directly to the Head of Communication & Media Relations, the candidate will play a key role in managing institutional media relations and shaping AI4I’s presence across digital platforms, with the objective of positioning the Institute at the core of the international debate on Artificial Intelligence. Specific attention will be devoted to strengthening relations with international media outlets specialized in science, technology, innovation, and industry, as well as enhancing the Institute’s capacity for scientific dissemination.

Your tasks:

  • Support the management of AI4I’s Press Office, ensuring the timely production and dissemination of press releases, statements, and institutional content with scientific accuracy and editorial impact
  • Manage relationships with national and international media, with particular attention to international press specialized in technology, innovation, and industry
  • Support the design and implement the digital communication strategy of AI4I across web and social media channels (e.g. LinkedIn,faceook, etc.), translating complex research outcomes into accessible and strategic narratives
  • Produce high-quality editorial content for institutional and digital communication (articles, interviews, posts, newsletters), with an emphasis on scientific clarity and public engagement
  • Coordinate the planning, publication, and performance monitoring of digital content aligned with the Institute’s strategic goals
  • Support the organization of press events, interviews, and public appearances of AI4I’s leadership, ensuring scientific consistency and media relevance
  • Monitor media coverage and digital performance metrics to inform strategy and ensure visibility in key innovation ecosystems
  • Collaborate with other offices and R&D Labs to identify, translate, and amplify high-value scientific and strategic content

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in Communication, Political Science, International Relations, or related fields; a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or in other STEM related fields is considered a strong plus.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in press office roles, institutional communication, or communication in research and innovation organizations
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with journalists and media at national and international level, particularly in the fields of science, technology, and industry
  • Experience as a scientific communicator in research institutes, R&D organizations, or tech-driven companies is considered a strong plus
  • Expertise in digital communication strategy, content production, and social media management, with a focus on scientific outreach and positioning
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills in Italian and English, with the ability to adapt tone and complexity to different audiences
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and multi-stakeholder environment, with sensitivity to both institutional and scientific contexts
  • Knowledge of the innovation and technology ecosystem is considered a plus
  • Fluency in Italian and English. Additional languages are a plus
