AI4I has been founded by the Italian Government to perform transformative application-oriented research in Artificial Intelligence.
AI4I is set to engage and empower gifted, entrepreneurial, young researchers who commit to produce an impact at the intersection of science, innovation, and industrial transformation.

AI4I is located in the stunning OGR-Tech Hub, in the heart of the city of Turin, a scenic and innovative city renowned for its scientific, industrial, and technological ecosystems, as well as for its growing number of startups, research laboratories, incubators, accelerators, venture capital funds, and corporate ventures.

TIMELINE
The Institute was presented on May 3, 2024, in Turin, in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Minister for Business and Made in Italy and the Minister of University and Research.
AI4I reached an agreement that makes Officine OGR Tech in Turin the Institute’s new headquarters. AI4I joins a hub of innovation that already hosts large companies and startups, promoting synergy on a scientific and technological level.
AI4I appointed Antonio Calegari as founding director and signed key partnerships with the interuniversity consortium Cineca in Bologna and the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa. The Institute is ready to enter its operational phase in 2025.
