Artificial Intelligence and New Challenges for the Publishing Industry
On May 14, 2025, the Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence for Industry (AI4I) took part in the conference “Technologies and Artificial Intelligence for Publishing”, hosted at OGR Torino as part of the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino (Turin Book Fair).
The event, co-organized by OGR Torino, the Book Fair and AI4I, offered a concrete space for discussion on how artificial intelligence is reshaping processes, content, and organizational models in the publishing industry—from editing to promotion, and from ethics to law.
Moderated by Alessandro Magno and Fiorenza Succu, Chief Evangelist of AI4I, the conference brought together publishers, researchers, and cultural professionals to explore both the opportunities and challenges of adopting AI throughout the book lifecycle.
Key topics included:
– Customization and integration of AI in editorial workflows
– Predictive market analysis and metadata
– Ethical implications and editorial responsibility
– Regulation, intellectual property and grey areas
Special thanks to OGR Torino for the co-organization and to Maurizia Rebola, Director General, for the warm welcome.
The event reaffirmed the growing role of artificial intelligence in the cultural sector and AI4I’s commitment to promoting dialogue between industrial and creative ecosystems.
