Become a Founding Head of our R&D Labs
The Italian Institute of Artificial Intelligence for Industry (AI4I) has opened the second round of calls for the appointment of the Founding Heads of its Research & Development Labs.
To attract a diverse range of outstanding candidates, the Institute is launching two parallel calls:
General Call — Founding Heads of R&D Labs
We are looking for leading researchers across perceptive, generative, agentic, and physical AI, eager to shape frontier research and drive innovation across science, engineering, and industry. This call is open to all domains and methodological approaches in artificial intelligence.
Thematic Calls — Four R&D Labs in Strategic Areas
In parallel, we are seeking candidates to lead four Labs focused on high-impact industrial challenges:
- Computer Vision for Industrial Environments
- Generative AI and Foundation Models in Advanced Manufacturing
- Agentic AI for Intelligent Decisions
- AI for Cybersecurity
All Labs will operate at the interface of foundational AI research and real-world deployment, leveraging AI4I’s unique infrastructure: the AI Foundry, the System for User Knowledge (SUK), and the national AI Factory.
