Only a few days after the announcement of AI4I’s first R&D Lab directors, the quality of the selection is already evident. Marco Maurizi (born 1993), Head of the AMED – AI for Advanced Materials & Engineering Design Lab, is among the authors of the study selected for the front cover of the latest issue of Nature Machine Intelligence, one of the world’s leading journals in artificial intelligence.

The publication, titled “Designing metamaterials with programmable nonlinear responses and geometric constraints in graph space”, is the result of work carried out during Maurizi’s postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, in collaboration with UCLA and Penn State University.

AI4I warmly congratulates Marco Maurizi and all co-authors on this achievement, which highlights the calibre of talent leading the Institute’s labs and its ability to attract young researchers engaged in high-impact international projects.
