AI4I is expanding its scientific community with two new opportunities within the Physical Holistic Intelligence (PHI) Lab, led by Leonel Rozo.
The PHI Lab focuses on advancing foundational models for robotics and smart factories, bridging physics, geometry, and artificial intelligence to develop the next generation of physical intelligence. Its mission is to design AI systems that are not only more powerful, but also more robust, explainable, and directly applicable to industrial contexts.
We are now hiring:
Research Engineer – Foundational Models for Robotics and Smart Factories
A role at the intersection of research and engineering, turning ideas into working prototypes and scaling them to real-world industrial applications. The position involves:
- Collaborating with scientists and PhD students on proof-of-concepts.
- Building robust data pipelines and deploying large-scale foundational models.
- Working with robotics stacks (ROS2, Mujoco, NVIDIA Isaac Sim).

Postdoctoral Researcher – Geometry & Physics in Foundational Models for Robotics
A research-focused position designed for candidates eager to rethink how foundational models integrate principles of geometry, physics, and control theory. The role involves:
- Designing models with “physical and geometric intuition”.
- Exploring curved latent spaces and multimodal data representations.
- Developing next-gen world models for robotics and safe human–robot collaboration.
Both positions are based at OGR Tech, Torino, where the PHI Lab is hosted, with access to AI4I’s HPC infrastructure and a vibrant international ecosystem of researchers and industrial partners.
