October 14, 2025 – 6:30 – 19:30 pm

Format: 40–45 min moderated conversation + 10–15 min Q&A

On October 14, 2025, at OGR Torino, AI4I will host a seminar on AI for Health, part of Mind Machines – AI Dialogues, the series organized with OGR Torino and Fondazione CRT that explores the impact of artificial intelligence on society and the economy.

Every day, immense amounts of data are generated from personal behaviors, clinical records, medical imaging, and even satellite observations. Within this flood of information lie patterns that artificial intelligence can detect and use to guide decisions, from predicting epidemics and shaping containment strategies, to supporting surgeons in the operating room, to protecting agriculture against disease.

Two leading voices in the field will discuss how these technologies can improve our lives, whether they can do so equitably, how they might scale, and how they can deliver without adding further strain on our planet:

Marcel Salathé, Professor at EPFL, pioneer of digital epidemiology, co-director of the EPFL AI Center, known for his work on MyFoodRepo and for his scientific engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is also part of the team behind Apertus, the open Swiss large language model.

Marco Aldinucci, Full Professor at the University of Torino, expert in HPC and AI for cardiological diagnostics, director of the HPC-KTT National Laboratory, and coordinator of HPC4AI. He plays a leading role in European technological sovereignty and in data center projects for AI applied to health.

The event will be moderated by Chiara Sabelli, science writer.
