The national newspaper spotlights AI4I’s System for User Knowledge (SUK) as the engine of a new technology transfer model developed with Unioncamere to accelerate AI adoption across Italian SMEs.
On 24 July 2026, Il Sole 24 Ore published a full-page feature, signed by Filomena Greco, on SUK (System for User Knowledge), AI4I’s technology transfer platform, presenting it as the core of a new technology transfer model developed with Unioncamere to help small and medium-sized enterprises adopt artificial intelligence through a structured, demand-driven approach.
Developed by AI4I together with Unioncamere following more than a year of experimentation, the model is now ready to scale nationally after the successful completion of the AI Match Torino pilot programme, which demonstrated how a coordinated technology transfer framework can effectively support SMEs in adopting AI solutions across different industrial sectors.
SUK: Matching Industrial Needs with AI Solutions
At the heart of the initiative is SUK, AI4I’s technology transfer platform, which connects companies seeking AI adoption with a qualified network of technology providers. Rather than offering a simple catalogue of solutions, SUK structures companies’ needs, identifies the most suitable technology partners and supports the development of tailored AI projects through a guided matching process coordinated by AI4I.
As highlighted by Il Sole 24 Ore, the platform already brings together 140 qualified providers, 186 AI solutions, 59 innovative startups, around 70 SMEs, more than 70 structured business needs and 30 technology matching processes already underway, creating a growing national ecosystem for AI innovation.
From AI Match Torino to a National Model
The article retraces the experience of AI Match Torino, the pilot programme promoted by AI4I in collaboration with the Turin Chamber of Commerce and Fondazione Piemonte Innova to support SMEs in their AI adoption journey through a structured technology transfer methodology.
The initiative combined training, business assessment, use-case definition, technology matching and specialist mentoring, validating an approach capable of translating companies’ operational needs into concrete AI projects. The programme concluded on 15 July 2026 with the selection of the twenty companies entering the implementation phase.
Building on the results achieved in Turin, AI4I and Unioncamere are now working to scale the model nationally, extending this collaborative framework across the Italian chamber system and making qualified AI technologies and expertise accessible to SMEs throughout the country.

The feature also highlights the versatility of the model, which has already generated successful use cases across sectors including food quality, computer vision for packaging, smart museum access systems, talent management and industrial design.
