On February 9, 2025, the AI4I Supervisory Board approved the Gender Equality Plan (GEP), aligning with the best practices of leading European research institutions.

Developed in accordance with European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) guidelines, the plan outlines concrete strategies to foster a fair, inclusive, and internationally competitive work environment.

An innovative and measurable approach

AI4I’s GEP is ambitious and innovation-driven, introducing key measures to ensure equal opportunities and enhance diversity in career paths and research. Among its main actions:

  • Bias-free AI Development: monitoring datasets and adopting development frameworks to ensure AI models are free from gender bias.
  • Real-time Monitoring Dashboard: a tool to analyze staff composition, gender balance in research teams, and organizational well-being.
  • Equal Parental Leave: ensuring fair access to parental leave, with particular attention to diverse family needs.
  • Inclusive Leadership Training: dedicated programs to expand female representation in decision-making roles.
  • Zero-Tolerance Policies Against Harassment and Discrimination: secure and anonymous reporting procedures, combined with awareness campaigns and victim support initiatives.

The plan includes continuous monitoring and an annual reporting system, ensuring transparency and measurable impact.

With this decision, AI4I aligns with the highest European standards and positions itself as a research and innovation environment committed to work quality and talent development in a fair and inclusive setting.
