ABSTRACT
Generative AI is rapidly changing how software is designed, implemented, tested, documented, maintained, and studied. However, the long-term impact of these technologies on software engineering depends on moving beyond hype toward evidence-based methods, reliable tools, responsible practices, and industrially relevant applications.
This one-day event brings together Italian researchers working on Generative AI for Software Engineering to discuss recent advances, open challenges, and future directions. The talks will cover topics including AI-assisted documentation and maintainability, agentic approaches for web testing and flaky test repair, empirical evidence on how GenAI is reshaping code and developers, prompt engineering as a scientific discipline, fairness in GenAI-based software engineering, and emerging computational approaches to regression testing.
The goal of the day is to foster dialogue between researchers, practitioners, and industry stakeholders on how Generative AI can be engineered, evaluated, and adopted in software development practice. In addition to technical presentations, the event will include structured discussion sessions to identify common research themes, open problems, opportunities for collaboration, and pathways for technology transfer.
